Has anyone read "Making Life Better for a Baby with Acid Reflux" by Mike and Tracey Davenport??? We have been trying to order it on line from the web site but something isn't working and no one else carries the book yet. Just wondering if anyone had read it??
thanks

I've read it actually and been meaning to update my post about it (http://www.infantrefluxdisease.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=12) but haven't had time.

I think the title is a little misleading, it's called Making Life Better For A Baby with Acid Reflux which leads one to believe it's full of info on reflux, including actually how to help your baby get over their reflux, in reality there is virtually no actual information that I could find on reflux itself. It's more about managing the stress of reflux...the authors explain how you should get people to help with your daily chores and give you as many breaks from the baby as you can, etc. There are charts on determining how stressed you are, a chapter on how important it is to learn as much as you can about the illness, it explains that you will have financial burdens etc. Much of it was common sense but there was some useful information.

What about the other reflux book (http://www.infant-reflux.com)? (sorry, shameless plug, I know...couldn't help it 8) )

Today the autho of the book actually called us and said they had found some of the best care for their child right in Columbia MO. they spoke very highly of teh Chocosite folks and the University of Columbia in Mo. they had traveled from MD all the way to see these Drs. He did mention your book also and the PAGER site. We are only 6 weeks into a baby with reflux so are very anxious to learn all we can. thanks for all your help out there. I accidently stumbled on this site and got the cara cream site from a posting. We are so thankful for all of you.

We're also glad you found us!

It's wonderful that you all are so anxious to learn everything you can, that goes for every one here, just seeking out a site like this is so important. So many parents are willing to blindly follow the doctors advice and never learn anything about their child's condition...but how can you be their best advocate if you don't know what's actually happening with their care?

Please keep us posted on your little refluxer.
