Does anyone's child take reglan for DGE? Maeve has been on it since November. They increased her dose a few weeks ago and I think I'm seeing some of the side effects they talk about but I'm not sure. Any input would be great!

What kind of side effects are you seeing?

Trent was on Reglan for 6 months. When they increased his dose, he started experiencing some extrapyramidal symptoms of tardive diskynasia.

He started having involuntary jerking motions of the trunk of his body. He would even do it in his sleep. He started having tongue thrusting motions constantly. We took him in to his GI and let the GI watch him for about 30 minutes and he confirmed that these were signs of beginning TD. We took him off immediately! It took about 3 months after we took him off, for all of the symptoms to go away. I have since learned that if we had not taken him off when we did, those symptoms could have become permanent.

Shae was on it for awhile but it didn't help so we took her off it...she had no side effects from it thankfully. What things are you beginning to see?

My baby has been on Reglan for about 4 months and dosage is 1.4 mg every other feeding. I noticed the other day her left arm just shoots up and down while she's in my lap, sometimes while eating. Does this sound like the extrapyramidal movements that are associated with Reglan?? Should I take her to a GI doctor? Just started on Prevacid too.

This could be a sign of beginning TD. Extrapyramidal symptoms do include involuntary movements of limbs/extremities. I would definitely talk to your doc about it.
