We have a very small 6 week old who has had reflux since birth, spent time in NICU. had been on Zantac, no real relief...eats only 1 oz and vomits half. growing very slowly. The MD wanted to try prevacid but we then encountered the mixing problem with the 1 oz of fluid..(her entire feeding) then we found the Chocosite from this message board, contacted them and phound a pharmacy to compound the drug and Caracream, and we gave the first dose 2days ago. now the baby has a flushed look to her cheeks only. I was wondering if anyone has ever encountered an allergic reaction to the Caracream product. Or maybe the prevacid could be causing the flushing. This is probably the first time she has ever gotten the entire dose. We were really hoping to be able to use this product since the 2.5 ml twice a day is so much better than trying the granuals and an ounce of liq. our little one is also very stiff in the legs and the MD has yet to find a cause. She takes breats milk mixed with formula for additional calories and thickened with rice cereal. Feeding is a project, but we think she is showing relief with the med. hope there is no allergy.
Please help if anyone has any input. thanks
I hope I have gotten this finally on the right section on the message boards...sorry for the duplication.
