Hi everyone, My 19 month old is having a scope on Monday and I'm just wondering what to expect. Has anyone had one done on their little one?

Shae had a scope when she was 5 months and again two weeks ago. They put her to sleep and the first time was very upsetting for me, she had never been under before and I was a little scared about it. She did well though, when she first woke up she was really ticked off with the whole situation, her throat was dry, you could tell it hurt, and her voice was hoarse. Same with this last one...that's about the worst of it though. It will probably take about a half hour.

Seth had one 4 weeks ago and, Roni is right. The hardest part is when they wake up they cry and their throat sounds so hoarse. But, within 3 hrs. Seth had his voice back. By the next day he was back to normal. But, don't expect your child to eat much at all that day. It will hurt to swallow. I went in thinking that it was going to be a terrible procedure, but it wasn't so terrible as I had imagined. Of course, it wasn't fun either :( Let us know how you all do.
