Hi there

Can anyone shed any light on this situation for me???....

Our son Samuel had fundoplication surgery in December to control his reflux as instead of being sick he would have apneas.

Anyway, we were told by the surgeons that he will never burp or be sick. So imagine we were terrified when on Friday he started to be sick. We phoned the hospital & took him in & we were told he could be sick! The surgeon told us that if he was sick or burped the operation hadn't worked, so we were of course terrified he would have another apnea.

Has anyone heard of this before?

Since then he has had an upset tummy & today he has a cold. I think as he started nursery last week, he must of picked something up there.

We have an appointment next week with the surgeon who performed the operation in Valencia & we are going to give him a right royal roasting.

Any advice?????????

Tracy

((((HUGS))))) All I can say Tracy, is my sympathies are with you b/c the fundo has failed. If he is able to throw up then it's either not tight enough or has come partially or completely undone. This is exactly the reason I am soooo against them in the first place. Hopefully, they will find that it's only somewhat loose and it's still tight enough to continue to help with the apneas *fingers crossed*.

My advice would be to not let them perform another one unless he is having so many apneas that it's life threatening.

Please let us know how things go.
