Hi everyone!
Because of Evan's reflux and his global developmental delays, I've decided not to try him on peanut butter until at least age 3, but I'm curious...Has anyone else waited longer to try their refluxer on peanut butter, and if so, what age? Also, do refluxers have a higher risk of being aniphylactic?

It's funny you mentioned that, Janette. I took Trent to a doc appt last week and they reminded me that I could give him peanutbutter now that he is over 1 year old. I gave it to him for the first time yesterday and he really liked it. At first I just put a really small amt on the tip of a baby spoon and let him taste it. He smiled, so I figured he liked it. Then, I fork mashed (really well) a banana and mixed a small amt in with it. He really seemed to like it, and he didn't have any reaction to it. I was worried about that as well. I still haven't given him eggs yet for that same reason.

Here in Canada, we're told to wait until age 2 to give kids peanut butter, but I read on a website tonight that age 3 is better. I can hardly believe that your doctor told you to try Trent on p.b. at such a young age.

Yeah. Here in the states we are told to give pb at age 1. Up until age one, the only things we are told to avoid is pb, eggs, and honey. After age 1, all of those are allowed. Even the books we get from the hospital say age 1 too. Thats too funny!!! Is Canadian PB different from the states??? :D
