I just finished reading your book. It's great! I feel like giving it to all my friends of non-refluxers. Even though they are very supportive they still have NO idea!!
I laughed out loud reading what you said about people asking about the tube and their fat kids are running around saying they're hungry! I feel that way every time I go to the mall!! I'm glad for the gj tube in that respect, no more staring and questions.
I also really appreciated when you talked about recognizing the different gagging sounds and when to get out of bed. It's so hard sometimes...I was glad to see that I'm not the only mom who doesn't always change the pj's and sheets because I'm exhausted-just lay a diaper pad over the wet spot 'til morning :wink:
My mom and sister are both in line to borrow the book and I know they'll like it too. They see Maeve every day and luckily my sister is pre-med and handles the tube, pump, stoma cleaning, etc. like a pro so we can get out every now and then!
Welcome to Holland really hit home w/ me. I'd actually read it in college once and forgotten all about it. Maeve was born w/ so many strange problems and no one has found any reason for any of them. It's been a very LONG emotional year for us and we're still working on accepting our new world. I know that we're lucky though because all of her problems can be fixed-it's just hard to be patient.

Yes, give it to your friends (wait, no, make them order it :P :lol: ahaha), that's part of why I wrote it, to make others understand!
