Hello,
My name is Rachel and my DD is Hope.
She is now 13 months and has had reflex since she was 3 weeks old.

Hope has out grown her reflux....and well now is lactose intolerant.
I am here to help you ladies out. I have been through this and I promise things will get better.

Thanks so much for coming on to encourage us, Rachel. My son is now 22 months old and things are beginning to get better. How old was your daughter when she outgrew her reflux? My son is intolerant to milk too, but the doctors won't believe me and say he's too young to have any tests done. They'd be "inconclusive", I'm told. We are assuming it's lactose intolerance, because he is fine with yogourt and cheese, which are both low in lactose. Where did you need to go to get Hope tested and how did you go about convincing the doctor to set you up for tests?

Thank you ladies for your warm welcome.....

Janette,

Hope Grew out of her reflex when she was about 11 months old. She still has problems with her tummy but nothing like before.
And for her lactose thing......
Well, after she was diagnost with reflex I still noticed something was still wrong with her.....she had ear infections and always had diarrea (sp). Hope was already on her 5th different formula...and yeat again her doc. switched her to soy. That was alot better.

When we took her off of formula we gave her regular milk.......BAD mistake!!!!
Her ear infections came back....and she was pooping out liquid....gross! Thats went her doc said to put her on Soy milk.

Janette,
Your mommy and you now best. Try switching to soy milk......and see what happens.
Yes, yogurt and chesse and very low in lactose.

Meg is not lactose intolerant, but she is allergic to dairy - as well as to peanuts, tree nuts, eggs, and wheat! I think, though, that her food allergies are easier to deal with than the babies' reflux!

Analisa,

That is the truth.....I would rather deal with allergies than the reflux, too.
