If one gets it they all have to compete or what??!!!

Eden has had a rash on the bottom of her feet on and off for several years....always treated as athletes foot....even by Drs......well it has progress to the hands in the crook of the fingers....a blistery oozy yuck that itches and burns....it's bothered her for about 2 months and just is getting out of hand,,(no pun intended) so i gave $$$ to go to the Dr today...well here it is
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dyshidrosis#Treatment

lovely ...it never goes away completely...hers is nothing like the pics but it is not good either.....:sign11: So now I will be buying her $$$$$$$$$$$$$$ pills for her non stop Cold Sores (which she is full of now) and steroid cream for her feet and hands!!!:censored: She has no Ins either.....wonder if my Dr FIL could get this stuff for her.....naaa what am I thinking.....:haha:

OMG Debbie....bless you!!!!!!! :smt036   :smt036   I have been dealing with the exact same thing for months now - on my left foot - and only my left foot - but I have just been to lazy and can not seem to find the time to go to the the dermo about it. I have just been treating it on and off as if it is althletes foot...it cleared up some once I got to break out my sandles and such - but it has flaired again the last few days or so....

Guess perhaps I should head the dermo to get some steriod cream.....

Debbie,
I sometimes think it IS a competition around here. It's like the kids can't be happy with things being ho hum.
One gets a stomach flu they all have to catch one, and it seems like hospital visits kinda boom around here all at the same time too.

O.K. girls watch out! There's a new IRD rash going around and your child is for SURE at risk.

DON'T DRINK THE WATER!!!!

yes go to the Dr before it gets crazy like some of these or ends up on your hands too...I'm just glad it's not contagious.....she has always complained since she was little her feet were hot and now she says she wakes up and her hands are sweating....she just went to the walk in clinic and saw a reg MD......the Dr told her to try Yoga to relieve stress....apparently it can cause an outbreak

Minnie....it's bottled water for me....oh ...but didn't I just hear plastic does bad things to us......were doomed!!!

I have alreayd been in the crazy nasty phase - My toes for a long time actaully resembled what I would call ground beef as opposed to toes - KWIM? And the itching and the burning - UGH!!! IT was really a never ending cycle -

I had been looking on th internet - and as I was reading in the link you attached - I had not thought to look for anything related to my nickle allergy - I have had one for a long time - it was actaully dx in college - and I treat it on and off - but for the most part, since I am "used" to, I ignore it and just live with it. I kind of adopted the same policy with what was happening on my foot - the only downside is that it never seems to get better.

I can understand her hand sweating....mine at times do the same thing - and they prolly itch as well and they get really really red - until it seems to dry out on its own, and then the skin starts to flake off - similar to what happens with her feet - right? Treat it the same way as she is treating her feet - and unfortunately - it is ALL stress related - and until that is under control, non of "this" will be controlled - KWIM?

Holy moly... I have that too!! Except it's on my hands. I too have not gotten around to seeing anyone about it. I really think there is a hormonal component to it. I seem to get it around my period AND it went away when I was pregnant with Sadie. So crazy! Maybe I should tell wikipedia about my theory....

Thanks for sharing Debbie! I still probably won't do anything about it, but at least now I know what it is!

This is exactly how it is for Eden too....she has always treated her feet like it was athletes foot...never helped much.....she is so freaked out it's going to end up like seen in the pics on Wikipedia.....it really needs to be cared for....and Katie you should really have it looked at too....I read it does flare up during the menstrual cycle too...and tons of other things irritate it too.....BTW Eden was using a nickle mouse pad at work.....and has a horrible reaction to earrings that are nickle too...

There is actually a bit of nickle in everything - I remeber the horror on my husbands face when my white gold wedding bands turned my finger green - He was so afraid I was going to think he has skimped on my set and bought fakes....:haha: But, I finally told him that all my good jewelry does that - gold, white gold, sterling silver - you name it - real or fake - it turns me colors.

Weather is also a huge factor with mine as well - cold and winter it is worse and it had finally gotten warm here and it started to get better and forthe last week or so you would think it was fall not spring.

Good luck to Eden - hopefully it clears up for her soon!
