Hi

Just curious if u have a phobia....and can u work through it?

I'm claustrophobic...
I had to go for a closed MRI several years ago and pumped myself up for it, but the minute the machine starting moving and I saw the wall in my face...I started hyperventilating/crying...
It's SO annoying because in my rational mind I know how ridiculous it is...but I can't seem to get over it...
I haven't really seen anyone, since it doesn't interfere with my day to day life...kids etc

I worked in Northern NJ before staying home and I hated going to our office in the city which I had to do several times per week....just being in a cab or walking amongst all those peope/congestion/tall building gave me the creepies and I almost felt at times I couldn't breathe

I am claustrophobic. I had an MRI on my ankle. I had to go in to my belly button. It stopped just in time, because I was about to totally freak out. I am getting nervous feeling just thinking about it.

I did my internship in San Francisco and used to ride the ferry boat into the city everyday. As soon as I would see all the building my hart would start to race. I was ok getting around the city, but I always had that initial reaction.

I also have a major public speaking phobia and can not stand to have anything touch my throat. Oh and I am really scared of bees too. I guess I am just a big ol wimp!

Roaches....I absolutely hate roaches!! I know there is a reason for the existence of roaches... but there is something wrong with the fact that a roach can live for two weeks....two weeks without its head... and it only dies from starvation....YUCK! :sign11:

Rats and snakes. Yes, I grew up (and still live in) the country, but I can't stand the sight of them. Just can't do it!

Can not stand roaches (I don't care if they have survived millions of years...they are gross), spiders or mice (rats, hamsters, gerbils...any rodent).

I do have a fear of flying(in an airplane, not my own wings!)...drives my dh crazy because he loves to fly. Needless to say we argue when it comes to vacations as to how we'll travel and no, I have never yet flown in a plane!

I am claustrophobic. I am going fo an MRI tomorrow on my leg so this should be interesting.

Spiders and roaches I am deathly afraid of the spiders. rolli pollies Super freaked out by those. Oh and big dogs I am scared of. My dog was attacked by a rot when I was three months pregnant with Brianna and then again when Brianna was three months old(she survived both attacks). I was outside with her when both attacks occured. And Brianna was big by a doberman on her chest.

CATS. I've always been petrified of them. They make my skin crawl. I had a nightmare...I was in the elevator and the doors were closing and before they had a chance to close all the way, thousands of cats started to pour into the elevator with me and they were clawing me and hissing.
I will never forget that dream.
I think that would be all. LOL

Wow I thought I was bad. I will move from the room I am in til Brianna or Dh get home to kill them. Once I was watching my niece for my sister and there was a spider and I would move and I swear to you it was following me to each room.

My mom is afraid of them too. We lived in texas when I was a kid and she ran out of a shower stall(we loved in a pop up camper) b/c there was a black weidow in the showewr with her.

I hate public speaking too. Other than that - not too much else. I guess I am scared of death - but who is not?

Ella cats? ISn't Ava dressed as a cat? LOL

I don't have any phobias I don't think. I do not like the idea of flying but I still do it. So I don't think it is a phobia...if I want to go somewhere I fly, I just try not to think about it.

I am deathly afraid of CLOWNS and CARGO VANS (you know, the one's that only have the windshield, windoew on the doors, and windows on the back door). I am so afraid of clowns that even the word gives me the hebbie gebbies......My DH likes to tease me when we pass a cargo van on the road by saying that it's filled with Evil clowns waiting to attack us at the next redlight.

I am freaked out by the horrible things that could happen, but you hope never happen - ie. being kidnapped and buried alive. Being trapped in my house when it is on fire.......this list is endless.

I have a lot of things that I worry about - I worry about spiders crawling into my ears when I sleep, I worry about snakes appearing in the toliet for no apparent reason. I am afraid of the day when my parents will die. I FEAR (and pray to God that this doesn't happen) that I will outlive my children.

I have so serious issues......I think that I have an overly creative mind and it sometimes gets the best of me. There are days where I wonder how I even manage to get out of bed because of the way my mind works.

Rach, it's funny that i dressed my girl as a creature I hate, but my phobias are about the real furry deal and the noise they make. LOL.

Debbie - no offense taken.....I don't think I am a hypochondriac - I just worry about "things". But, I do have a tendancy I think to internalize things more than the average person, and I find I am affected very emotionally and am very sensative to what happens around me. ?:sad5:

So my DD....She can literally make herself sick worrying over things most of us pay no attention to....all we have to do is say "Chuckie" or "IT" and you can see her thinking about it an hour later....she can't watch the commercials about drugs or disease...she will have the symptoms ....we can laugh but it really affects her daily.....she is also a chronic hand washer sanitizer.....:sad3:

Like several others here, I have major claustrophobia. I'm not real fond of heights or bugs, but I don't think anything scares me like being confined in a small space. Also, like Katey, I don't like my neck being touched...at least in the front.

Y'all are making me feel like I'm crazy.
I'm afraid of dirt. Well not afraid but OCD when it comes to cleanliness.
I'm afraid of raw meat. I guess it's a good thing I'm a vegetarian.
I panic if I'm in packed room full of people. Or an aisle in a store...
I'm afraid of uncontroled heights. If there's walls or I'm secured in something (ie plane or roller coaster) I'm fine but a roof I'm in the fetal position and you need to call the men in white coats.
I could go on and on... at one point I was afraid to walk infront of windows...
