After putting if off and putting it off, I know he does have a bug right now but he has consistantly complained about a "burning" in his tummy....
Now its got to where he is having issues w/ citric acids, chocolate (all the stuff reflux people have to watch out for)....
Tonight, when he woke up from his nap all was fine except mommy my tummy is burning, and throat.. he has done this for a few days straight now... and this has gone on for a long long time now..

I give... the gi specialist told me if it continued for a few weeks (i talked to him when I had him in there w/ carson back in april) to go ahead and bring him in...
so in the am I am going to get him an appt...
I went ahead and gave him some left over prevacid... I can't stand to see him suffer.. maybe it will cut his throwing up out.. he constantly throws up
I knew when he was a baby he was a "happy spitter" and thickening his formula was plenty for him.... he was also a comfort feeder and well overweight... never had to see a gi w/ him... until well now.. when he is complaining about it all the time...
so down one reflux child... up one\
I hope all the testing he wants to do will be a barium swallow! I don't think I could handle anything more serious w/ wyatt I don't want to go there again w/ my kids! the nightmares of carsons scopes will haunt me forever of the worring in the waiting room...
and knowing wyatt is big enough to know what is going on... thats just even worse hopefully w/ him not having severe symptoms he won't do a broad range of testing

I am sorry that Wyatt is having refluxy issues, too. :( It is tough to have more than one refluxer in the house. :sad2:

Walker was a huge puker as a baby and stopped suddenly, turning to silent reflux and then began his 'blue period' where he had some major issues. Despite being a possible poster child for reflux, he remained undiagnosed. :angry7: It was only once his youngest brother was diagnosed with GERD over 2 years ago that my middle and eldest son were diagnosed. :angry7:

Often, reflux is diagnosed based on symptoms and response to meds. If your GI is willing to give a trial of prevacid or some such, then I am sure you can bypass all the nasty testing as it really is unneccessary for uncomplicated reflux. Both Curran and Iain have had scopes done and I sweat each time they go under.

Walker is 8 years old now, unmedicated and yet refluxes. He sometimes has reflux so bad it brings tears to his eyes. I run for the OTC stuff then and it helps. He is uncomplicated as far as I can tell, but often he is quite hoarse. It certainly does help to have a critter who is verbal and communicative to know what they are feeling. Then again, in the case of Curran who has it much worse than Walker, it is not so great to hear how awful he feels a lot of the time. :sad5:

I hope you get some help for Wyatt and some answers. Keep us posted.

Wyatt is getting a lot of "croup" and coughing episodes and ear infections here lately.. so I am starting to link reflux to the picture... so I do think he is going to need some medication..
I told dh I wasn't surprised I was on tagament at his age myself....

It is astounding just how much havoc untreated reflux can reign down at times. If there is a familial history of it, then it stands to reason he *might* have issues, too. ;)

I am *supposed* to be sucking back Nexxium on a daily basis, but this proves to be impossible as I am without a Dr for the last two years. :hairpull:
