Hello, I have a speech question for you. My three year old has a huge vocabulary, at least I think he does. He speaks in competely full sentences, understands fairly complex sentences and discussions, but some of his speech is a bit rough. For example right now he is asking for a "blue popsicle" and he says "Boo pop yickle" (I think that is normal right?).We can understand 90% of what he says and people who don't know him can understand him probably 75% of the time. I am sure he will get over this, as he seems to improve on new words each day. For example he used to say "yoosha", when referring to our daughter Alycia, and then all of the sudden about two weeks ago he says "Aleesha" very clearly, and continues to do so.
BUT, the one thing that has stayed constant is his inability to say "oy". He cannot say toy, or boy or any kind of oy. He says "tayo", or "bayo". WHY????? I have never heard of this, Thys is the youngest of 5 and none of the others have done this. I really don't think hearing is an issue, I just don't get it.
Have you ever heard of this? Any insight would be appreciated!
