I guess the recall is due to being left on a table, counter, chair and such and when a parent walks away, the child can tip over (okay, once again, common sense or lack thereof causes a recall)

Uhmm..........that just seems like a lame reason for a recall. When I bought my Bumbo the box and directions said in very bold instructions not to put a child on an elevated surface while sitting in it. I guess people can't read anymore then?! :sad3:

I saw that on the news. They were showing kids wiggeling out of it, but they looked way to old to be using the seat in the first place.

That's what I thought too, Katey. I thought about calling you and telling you, since you have our bumbo, but I know you're smarter than this.

Dumb parents strike again. What's next - will they recall changing tables b/c kids fall off when their parents leave them unattended?

*sarcasm dripping from voice*

Gosh, I can't wait until Radio Flyer recalls B's tricycle--she falls off of it sometimes when she makes sharp turns.

I'm also waiting for Schick to recall my razor--can you believe I've cut myself a few times? I mean, really, they should warn people about the blades being sharp!

For the love of Pete, have we lost ALL our common sense? :sad3:

My DH freaked this morning when he saw the news on CNN - becuase have been intorducing Maddy to her Bumbo (there is actually a big joke between our houses, my mom couldn't remember what it was called, and went around for a few days referring to it as a "BIMBO" seat :haha: ).

I had to carefully explain to DH that Maddy sits in hers, supervised, and therefor, we will continue to use it, as long as he promises, not to put her in it, on top of the wash machine, when the wash machine is on the spin cycle, and to walk away and leave her unsupervised, for an extended period of time. He got the point.

I don't think all of us, just the ones who are looking for law suits......It's just amazing that everyone suffers due to people not reading or following directions.

First the crib that was recalled because someone put it together wrong; then the infant cold meds that were pulled because people overdose their children; then the bumbo seat because people think of it as a "babysitter"....Sometimes the stupidity in this world is amazing!
