I got all the paperwork over to the center on Thursday and they called me yesterday morning to schedule Jack's appointment. Initially, I wanted it done BEFORE he started preschool (on 9/11), but now I'm thinking this timing might be more advantageous since he'll have had a couple of weeks of Preschool and we'll get to hear if his teacher has any concerns about him that we can take with us when he gets his OT eval.

I'm really excited about this as I'm hoping to get "validation" one way or the other (either that he's a "normal", albeit VERY active Preschooler; or that he does have some SI or other issues that need to be addressed).

Congrats on the appt....but, does your comment mean that those with SI are not "normal"? Sorry, but I took a little offense to the phrasing.

Oh my gosh...I'm soooooo sorry, Jane! Obviously it didn't occur to me that my comment could come off that way, or I certainly wouldn't have posted it! Instead of saying that maybe he'll be evaluated as "normal", (but I put normal in quotes, since what's considered normal is subjective ;-)); I should have said that I'm looking forward to knowing once and for all that he either won't need any more intervention (in addition to the speech therapy he's already had), or he does have issues (SI or otherwise) that need to be addressed.
