What are we supose to do? with all these recalls it covers most of our kids toys? !!! this is getting ridiculous, with all of that, the animial food recalls, the human food recalls, just as I told my mother w/ food unless you grow it or kill it in your back yard it won't be safe to eat before this is all said and done...
My son was just playing w/ the thomas the train that was recalled, the diego toy, teh farm toy....

I couldn't agree more! It's getting out of hand! :sad3:

Last night, I found an Elmo toy of Josh's and it looked very similar to one in the FP recall earlier this month. I didn't even bother to check the model number - just tossed it in the trash.

Nearly all of his favorite toys were made in China. :angry7:

...and these are just the toys they know are unsafe. I wonder what else is lurking in my kids' toybox?

We're done buying toys m'factured in China, etc. We'll stick to toys made in the USA, Germany or Sweden (where they're much stricter about children's toy production).

I must be a "stick in the mud" mom. Brenna doesn't have any of those toys. I did almost buy the Elmo sprinkler though. I'm guessing that if Brenna were older, we would have had several of these toys. I'm with Mary - I'll stick to made in the USA (wonder, though, if it's really any better).

Did anyone else see the news story about the head of the manufacturing plant in China committing suicide?? I'll see if I can find a link.

Here it is:

Oh I agree 100%!!!

I feel the same way...no more toys from China. My aunt gave Josh the cutest little trucks from Sweden for his bday and you can totally tell the difference in the way they are made, etc.

Haba is an excellent toy company--we have a few of their toys. Expensive, to be sure; however, I'd rather have a few well-made toys than several cheap-possibly-lead-laden toys, KWIM?

There are a few other great wooden toy makers, too; however, I can't recall their names off the top of my head. :-)

I'm sorry that guy committed suicide. While I'm angry about the toy thing, I never like to see people get hurt. :-(

Yep, China is now officially on my "list". I can't believe how many toys are full of lead! I'm going to be MUCH more cautious now!

Thanks for the heads up. I will be avoiding anything for China. Not easy since they produce most of our food, clothes, products.....

Thanks Miori...Jayden does have many "CARS" toys I will have to go threw them....he doesn't have any of the little cars for fear he would chew off the wheels.....I think the Chinese economy is in big trouble.
