Hello
When my ds was 2yrs (we were already avoiding dairy/soy) I kept a food journal and realized he might have issues with gluten
I decided to eliminate gluten from his diet and he did very well
I was hoping 1 1/2yrs later, he is now 3 1/2yrs, he may be able to tolerate gluten again (as adding dairy and soy back into his diet didn't go well)
Recently I added small amounts of gluten back in his diet and initially he seemed fine
He is now horribly constipated (like never before in his life) going maybe every 3-4 days...I don't think he is holding it or afraid to go, as you can tell he is really struggling
I often hear diarrhea as a symptom of gluten intolerance but is constipation normal as well?
needless to say he has become quit fussy, and I'm not sure if the problem is gluten or the constipation caused my gluten
Does this sound normal because he was off gluten for so long, should I pull gluten from his diet and see if the constipation stops...OR add fiber/foods into his diet to battle the constipation
So far nothing I've done...adding a probiotic, extra apple juice to water has helped
Oh and he had a blood/RAST about 1 yr ago which was neg for everything except a low + to RYE
Thanks SO much for any insight
