View Full Version : What is your typing speed?
scarlet 06-12-2007, 03:55 AM LOL take the test...
http://www.typingtest.com/
Mine was 42 words per minute, but I think that I need to have another go, it was a little confusing at first hehe
Shaes Grammy 06-12-2007, 05:23 AM LOL, I had to respond to this one. When I saw your thread, I was thinking I will give them the link to the typing test!
Mine was always VERY fast. Now, I don't type/computer much at work, so I am at 78...still good though!
I had looked up that test so that I could ask who we were going to hire to take it.
Leigh 06-12-2007, 08:52 AM Ok, I am peeved. lol
I am at 57 wpm, but will do that one again. It absolutely boggled my mind that I could not go back and change anything. I usually go back while on the fly and change the words as I go. NOT with this test. :favorites21:
**bows to Jean's superiority on the keyboard** :smt041
scarlet 06-12-2007, 08:57 AM OK I just redid it, and got 57, with 82% accuracy. I did a brand new one, but I think it takes a bit to realise what you have to do.
So you and me Leigh, with a rematch LOL
And 78 OMG
Leigh 06-12-2007, 10:04 AM Ok, I am now at 63 wpm with I think it was 91% accuracy. I am not thinking I am much faster than that without some practice!
**gets ready to go to the mat with Rach**:ANYWORD:
You are right, it IS confusing at first. I am certainly not used to doing those tests at all. I did one a little while back and it was not as confusing and got to 60 wpm with 100% accuracy. I pretty much die with speed once I get off the alphabet and have to do numbers and funky things. :smt036 Maybe I should bring up that typing test and see how we do with it instead?
**scratches secretary off list of possible jobs**
I concede to Jean. 78 wpm would have my fingers flailing through the air at breakneck speed and endanger those standing too close to me with risk of bodily injury. :haha:
Kristenrn23 06-12-2007, 10:10 AM 64 wpm,, but im typing on my lab top on the couch lol.. i do better i think on a regular computer. i think i type faster than that though .. lol
Carrie 06-12-2007, 10:33 AM I was 56 with 98% accuracy. I like those things... I will have to keep practicing.... :)
Let me just say this...at an old job (where I actually had to use a typewriter), I had a cartoon taped to my typewriter:
It showed a person sitting at a typewriting typing feverishly. Then in next frame, the person was looking at you and said:
"I can type really fast...not actual words, of course."
manda40475 06-12-2007, 12:54 PM Net Speed: 93 WPM
(words/minute)Accuracy:96%Gross Speed: 96 WPM
(words/minute
I actually stopped twice too because my boss was saying something to me. LOL May try to retake it.
Mine was 70 w/ 89% accuracy. Its a little weird when you mess something up because instead of just going on it's like you skip words to catch up...
Minnie 06-12-2007, 01:20 PM O.K. you all make me sick! LOL
I got 100% accuracy!!!! I'm really proud of that, but...I took the test several times and.... My highest score is 29WPM
That's pathetic.....sigh...
So when you see a lengthy reply or post from Minnie you all NEED to appreciate the time it took me to type it all out for you.
O.K. you all make me sick! LOL

(PSSSST, Minnie...see my response to this thread above and notice that I did NOT include my score on that :censored: test!!!)
Minnie 06-12-2007, 02:16 PM O.K. Aim YOU don't make me sick ;)
But know we all now know why Leigh can type novels for posts on a daily basis GEEZE! Her fingers must go like a little road runner.
and Know I know why they always make since, instead of like me and not being able to type fast enough to keep up with my brain, Leigh little fingers already know what she's gong to say before she even thinks of it. LOL
Minnie 06-12-2007, 02:18 PM LMAO
O.K. I give up. It wasn't even Leigh that got the highest score LOL
I'm gonna go take a nap. I think I need one
stephiehatt 06-12-2007, 03:21 PM Wow, I knew I had gotten faster over the years since I started in the Corporate world. I think I tested at like 45WPM when I first started my job but I am up to 72 now with a 91% accuracy rate. My grandmother, a former high school secretary for 40 years would be proud! So it came out to 66 WPM when you factored in the typos.
And Leigh, I KWYM about going back, you can go back, but once you hit the space bar to go to the next word you can't go back to the previous word to correct it. The part that threw me was the stupid blue highlighting as I moved from word to word.
stephiehatt 06-12-2007, 03:25 PM 64 wpm,, but im typing on my lab top on the couch lol.. i do better i think on a regular computer. i think i type faster than that though .. lol
I agree, I am using a laptop too and I think that's why my accuracy is off b/c the keys just don't work as well as a regular keyboard when you are trying to type something fast.
Now you all know why I can write long posts too, I am doing it at warp speed. LOL
I am curious what Mary's score is...
twinmom 06-12-2007, 04:41 PM almost ashamed to say...92 wpm....and I haven't worked for a few years. I think when I went to a temp agency about 5 yrs back, I was over 100....getting slow in my old age.
Emily M 06-12-2007, 08:50 PM 75wpm... I'm not commenting on my accuracy, that was hard. LOL... **blows smoke from fingers**
Shaes Grammy 06-12-2007, 09:17 PM So when you see a lengthy reply or post from Minnie you all NEED to appreciate the time it took me to type it all out for you.
Minnie, we love you! You get an A for trying!
:rolling: You ladies are so funny.
I had taken the test awhile back, so tried it again tonight. I was at 77 with 93% accuracy so 82 wpm, does that sound backwards? LOL....well I am up past my bedtime
This makes me think of an old e-mail I got awhile back about seeing how far you could hit the penquin...I must go look for that and give you all another challenge!
