Hi my daughter Cassie is 7 months old almost 5 adjusted. She has terrible bottle aversion. She is now not taking the bottle at all and cries at the sight of it. Before she would take it sometimes with a lot of work and also she would take it when she was sleepy without fussing. I think that the sucking just made her fall asleep and thats why she wanted it. If she was wide awake it was almost impossible and took about 2 hours to get her to take 2-3 ounces. Now it is impossible, she will not take it at all!!!! I dont know what to do. She has always been NG tube fed since being in the hospital, but never wanted the bottle, till this day she is still NG tube fed. I think the NG is making it worse and we are finally getting a g-tube in the next two weeks or so. She has a bad gag reflex and doesnt like the taste of anything. I've tried baby foods and as soon as she tastes it she gags and vomits. I've tried bananas, rice cereal, squash, carrots, peaches, and sweet potatos. She also hates the pacifier and makes her gag. When she did take the bottle she would also gag unless you out it in slow and let her take it. I found myself force feeding her at times because sometimes when I insisted she would finally just take it and suck. Now I cant do it because she will not not not suck and just scream. I know this makes it worse so I dont do that. We had an eval. with early interventions and were going to set us up with speech therapy in our home for this. Now they said there is a waiting list and they do not know when they will contact us. We are desperate for help at this point!! I am just wondering if there is any certain things that you think the therapist would try so I can start doing sometime here at home before we can get the therapy as we dont know how long it will be. Thank you so much! -Vanessa
