My son is 10 months old and is currently on Zantac 15mg/ml syrup 2ml 2xs a day. He has been on this dose since he weighed 20lbs. He weighs 25lbs now. I requested a med increase because of his problems sleeping lately. The GI nurse called me and they want to put him on Prevacid. They perscribe half a solutab in the morning and a full one at night. I think they are the 15mg solutabs. That is only 21mg a day. The suggested does on the Marci-kids site is more than twice this for his age and weight. Is this enough Prevacid?

His symptoms have improved with age. Mostly vomiting and sleep disturbances. The sleep disturbances were gone until recently. Spit up comes and goes.

This seems like a reasonable dose. Some GI specialists use very large doses comfortably to get the desired effect. Try the dose for a week or two and then talk about an increase.
