I have been feeling reflux symptoms for the last couple of days and was wondering if this could affect my refluxer baby. I have been eating pretty much the same and the only thing I have added to my diet was a tea made by GNC called Mother's Milk, to increase milk supply. I have been drinking it for over a week now but the reflux just started bothering me. I will appreciate your comments. Thanks, Sonia

Hmm....I have no idea on this one, I'm afraid to say.

But, if the only connection you are seeing is the Mother's Milk tea, you might stop drinking it for a day or so and see how you feel.

I know when I was trying to increase my milk production, my Dr told me to drink a beer every night...a good strong one that has lots of hops, none of the lighter beers like Coors or Bud.

FYI - I moved this to Breastfeeding too for more exposure to our other B/F's.

Hi Sonia: This is an interesting question! I don't have a good answer for you. I would keep a close eye on your little one. If you notice the baby having an increase in reflux symptoms, then there might be a link between your heartburn and his. Hope you get to feeling better soon!

Hey Sonia--I, too, took a supplement to help pump up my milk supply early on (Fenugreek--in the form of drops under the brand namd "More Milk Plus"). Fenugreek is usually the main ingredient in those things. Anyway, I don't *think* it would cause your heartburn, but I'm no doctor.

Funny story for you, though...I b'fed my dd until she was 20 months old and I'm currently b'feeding my ds. With both kids, whatever bothers them, bothers me. I never really had any issues with dairy, eggs, etc.; however, when b'feeding my dd, I absolutely could not drink milk--it gave me awful bloating/gas. With my ds, eggs do the same thing. Guess what? Those foods were also trigger foods for my kids. Once I stopped b'feeding my dd, I could drink milk with no problem. Weird, huh? The point of my story is that I *wonder* if whatever is causing you heartburn could also be causing your little one the same, KWIM?

If you can, try to keep a careful log of what you're eating to see if there's anything that might be triggering your reflux. It also might be interesting to see if your baby's reflux is also worse when yours is. (I doubt your own reflux will make your kiddo's worse.)

Good luck--I sure hope you feel better!
