Everyone I know thinks I'm nuts for making a big deal of this, but Jason ate some vegetable puree WITH RICE without spitting it out. He also tried tapioca pudding and did not spit any out!

This is huge considering he hated items like this .... I am so happy that there are now a couple of new things to add to his diet!

Wow, that's huge! Yay, Jason!

For quite some time, I was able to forcefeed purees to Daniel, but things really fell apart when I tried to introduce things with textures or lumps. He simply did not know what to do and ended up puking.

That is great Jane....Jayden wont eat rice ...he acts like it's painful lol....and spits it out immediately...So I understand ...along with all the other ladies here:hug:

I knew you guys here would understand...dh thought I was drinking and couldn't understand why the big deal (although he knows how this young man doesn't eat). My sister and mother thought I was crazy...well, he's 15 months..he should be eating that.

It's funny though that Jason has the food issues and doesn't have reflux, yet Emma has reflux and will eat (or at least try) anything.

I am just so happy that we have added a few more items....This just makes my day!!!!:party21:

I have to tell you ..Jayden actually ate some chicken and rice baby dinner stuff...LOL I'm tired....for the first time the other day ....he thought about spitting it out but he was watching one of those dreadful videos and just swallowed and ate the whole thing then!!!...I found out recently he likes corned beef hash....but Steph wasn't thrilled because it's greasy and smells like dog food....:sad5:

I didn't think about that....I'll have to get some. Jason could use the extra calories...at this point with his limited menu, I don't care how greasy it is.

Emma's GI said that until they are 2 yrs old to not worry about calories or fat intake. After 2, it becomes a different story though I guess (and she was talking about Emma with her reflux).

Stephanie is just a grease freak...she is one of those people that blots her pizza to get the grease of of it.......or if I make homemade soup she skims the grease off of that too...or chills it to a solid and takes it out....but loves Culverts Snickers Ice Cream...LOL ya...she's weird

She doesn't worry about his calorie intake as much as it is something she doesn't like to eat......kwim.....McDonalds is a major no no....

Jayden will normally spit out lumpy food too....I think he like the corned beef hash because it was salty...I'm assuming

That's great! We're just starting feeding therapy. Titus is 13months old and I end up cleaning up more puke than not when I try anything with any texture at all. I do a dance if he keeps 2 bites of a level 3 food down. That's great!!!

We have to celebrate where we can, and accepting new food textures is a BIGGIE!

I hope he continues to progress and have fun with new foods. :smt041

I have to say, Curran was like Emma in that if it was food, he would stuff it into his mouth immediately when he was young. He just loves to eat. Period. Nowdays, we do have some problems, but I think it is due to all the restrictions he has undergone.

Anyway, I am sure some peer pressure from Sis has helped Jason to get to this point of trying. ;)

That is a HUGE deal :party0049: !!

Do you mean regular cooked rice? You added it right too the vegetables?

Plain old cooked minute rice mixed with stage 3 or 2 vegetable.

It doesn't happen all the time, and he still has his days due to the sensory issues, but more and more is starting to eat solid food (real food).
