Sorry to bug you again. We have the GI tomorrow, so I don't see the point going to the doctor on a Sunday when they will have no idea to treat this.

But Parker is getting worse at night, he is coughing a lot, and the cough is kind of wet, I am pretty sure it is reflux coming up with it. But last night he was really bad, he slept in bed with me, and he would cough and then choke on it. He would gag and he vomited a little with it once, and then twice he spat up really thick clear liquid (like a full handful) that took a lot of effort to get out.

I gave him some mylanta first and that did nothing, the cough got worse. Then I gave him the ventolin and put him in the steamed bathroom for about 10minutes, and gave him some tylenol, and he was still coughing a little, but no gagging etc... and slept quite well after that. His cough was bad, but if he wasn't coughing he wasn't having a hard time breathing.

So my question, why is he so bad at night, but pretty good all day, he may have a little cold, but not enough that I would medicate or anything, his nose isn't running etc...

Also should I be doing more?

Rachel, it sounds like you're doing everything you can do for now. This may be a viral thing (I know standard medical answer:angry7: ). If he's having nasal congestion/drainage, it could be causing both the cough and the thick handfuls of goo. The act of coughing alone might make him vomit. It certainly sounds like he's getting hit with a double whammy, reflux flare and virus together. Keep up the good work, you're doing a great job. Try to get some sleep. I hope he's feeling better soon! I wish I knew why they get worse at night, I'd make a fortune. Positioning is certainly part of it, as is cool, moist evening air

Thanks Lori, you made me feel better, I was worried that I should be wanting to do more.
