I was looking up the laryngomalaica and tracheomalacia because a couple weeks ago its like in a blink of an eye carson woke up w/o these sqeeky sounds... the website : http://www.drhull.com/EncyMaster/L/laryngomalacia.html states they ususally grow out of this by age 18 months... carson is 19 months but still he is right on time....
its amazing how fast these kiddos change!
By the way that site gives a full definition in laymans terms for those laryngomalacia moms....and its short.
Thanks so much for that link! I have a hard time explaining Adam's lary in any more detail than "floppy larynx". :-) I'll print this out and show it to the grandparents so that they have a better idea as to why he sounds like little donkey so much of the time!

Thanks, Angela! I'd been looking for something concise yet thorough to use to explain the laryngomalacia to daycare when Myles starts. That should work perfectly. We saw the ENT today and got a definitive diagnosis finally.

Dylan had tracheomalacia...until i got on here i never heard of another having it... but anyways he pretty much grew out of it by 2 yrs old as the dr said... but occasionally i still heard it like when he was excited or exzerting himself till he was like 4 yrs old.... when he was a baby he always sounded like a little motor or cat purring... occasionally he'd get in a position where he didn't make the noise and i immediatly jumped up to make sure he was still breathing...also i was told to sode sleep him as back sleeping could cause the trachea to flop and sufficate himself
thanks so much for sharing.
