It's recently come to my attention that despite the SEVERAL times I have spoken on this issue and despite how incredibly and crystally clear I have made my (and IRD's) position on this subject through MANY posts, REPEATEDLY--there are a small few who still just can't seem to get it. They seemingly have decided that IRD is filled with staff and members whom hate Marci-Kids, do not allow mention of Marci-Kids, enjoy seeing our children in pain, therefore do not seek out the best treatments available, are too ignorant to read and keep up with the newest studies available and have yet to realize that Marci-Kids are the answer to all our prayers and are living in the dark ages of reflux treatments.
So, I am, yet again...and FOR THE LAST TIME, repeating myself. I simply can NOT possibly make this any clearer. I'll try to use small words for those whom simply can not grasp this.

In summary; however, I and IRD as a whole fully support and have great respect for Marci-Kids, Dr. Phillips and anyone else on the planet who is spending their time trying to find help for our kiddos. I have said that before, and I say it again. I don't know how to be more clear. I personally do prefer to spend more energy advertising PAGER (www.reflux.org) as the largest non-profit in the world working on funding genetic studies and eventually a CURE...but again I and IRD as a whole fully support and have great respect for Marci-Kids, Dr. Phillips and anyone else on the planet who is spending their time trying to find help for our kiddos.
There are several threads on IRD about Marci-kids, several links to their website, I personally have added a link to their website in the links directory and Zegerid is listed as a drug treatment on our treatments page on the main website.
We have NEVER, EVER bashed Marci-Kids, nor do we EVER intend to start. We have no reason to. Our position is simply:
a/ Zegerid is not a miracle cure for all kids with reflux
b/ It's always best to start with the lowest dose possible, as I'm sure everyone would agree, we don't want to pump more meds into our kiddos than they really need. If the lowest dose doesn't help, then of course, continue increasing until an effective dose is found.
c/ every child is different, what works for one, will not work for all
However in the world someone could twist those rational statements into MK bashing is beyond me.
We do not have many children on Zegerid here, that is true. Other sites have a large amount of members with children on Zegerid because they had a member of the Marci-Kids staff actively participating there for a long period of time. A number of moms here have tried Zegerid and not had success with it, some have and that's great. We're all for whatever works.
At this time there are several sites around with message boards for infant reflux and although it's incredibly sad that there are so many children suffering enough that sites like this one exist, be grateful that they do and find one that you enjoy and feel the most comfortable. If that's not the logical voice of reason at IRD, move on in peace...but do NOT presume to speak for IRD and our position on ANYTHING.
