Armed with Omnicef, Orapred, Xirahist DM, Xopenex via neb every three hours, and referrals to a pulmonologist and an immunologist (both named Patel, lol).

The girl is sick, sick, sick. She's now wired on Orapred and "singing" in her crib between hacking episodes.

Ack....not a good way to spend your evening!

:grouphug: Let's hope all the meds do the trick!

I'm so glad you took her in. I was really worried about her. Stick it out with the Orapred - it's going to make a huge difference, but you'll have a different child while she's taking it.

Wow....I've been in bed for the last week (bad migraine/still going on...) so I missed what was happening with her...but it doesn't sound good! I hope she feels better soon!! Brayden was just on almost the same meds two weeks ago and I was shocked how quickly they helped him feel better (Biaxin, Orapred, Xoponex every 3 hrs, and upped his Pulmicort dose...)

Is there any reason why she needs a pulmo and an immunologist though? We see an allergist/immunologist that treats his asthma rather than taking him to a pulmonologist as well. It makes it easier on us since he already has so many specialists and its a pain to get them to all work together. Of course, this office treats asthma routinely, but I wonder if you could do something like that???

Omg, I hope she gets better soon! The orapred really does help a lot even though it does wire them up! I think it helps them even as much if not more than the breathing treatments when they are sick. I hope everything goes okay with the specialist!

Awww, Lesley...poor Catherine! I hate to even ask this, but with all the respiratory issues, have they done a sweat chloride test for CF? Man, I hate to even think that way, but it comes to mind, kwim? Sorry to give you something else to worry about (as if you really need it!), but a friend of mine asked about Ava in regards to CF the other day, so it's fresh on my mind (Ava's was neg).

I hope that arsenal of meds makes a difference for her!!!!
