You would be surprised if they acually did. You just need to submit a RX to a place that deals with insurance. Apria is one, and we get ours covered. Calling your insurance and asking is not a way to 'have it denied' because most insurances want the billing code, then they know what it is, and how much it is. I called my insurance and they were like "we have no idea what you are talking about". I submitted both RX's for Neocate, and The simply thick, and they cover both.

I suggest calling your PED's office and asking for the 'referral person'. They actually do a fantastic job. I just got our #s of how much the simply thick 'costs'. I get 360 packets a month (we use 4 honey packets per 8oz bottle, so 12 packets a day) and they charge $316.88, *I* only pay our 10% deductable which is $31.68. And i get a whole months supply that way.

BEFORE i was buying Hydra-aid (same as simply thick just generic) for $68 bux a box, every 18 DAYS!

Good luck.

I currently use "Thicken up" which is a powder that I mix into the bottle. They told me that the insurance companies don't cover it even though I had a Rx. :(
