We got the results of Sebastian’s Early On eval today. He is slightly behind in fine motor because he can not stack 4 blocks, and she put him down as questionable in self help, because of his not chewing and refusing to use a spoon or fork.
It was enough to get him approved for services. She is going to set up a consultation with an OT that specializes in feeding issues. She has him down for one apt where she will evaluate him and give us tips on how to help him. If she (the OT) feels that he needs on going help they will set him up for regular therapy, if not Early On will continue to keep track of how he is doing for at least the next six months.
I am happy about it. It is one less thing for me to be stressed over. The only problem is that it will probably take a month to get the OT apt. It has already been one month since I first contacted Early On, so it is kind of a pain that there are so many steps and it takes so long, but at least I will finally be able to have a professional look at him and tell me if there is really something to be worried about or not.
