View Full Version : Do you have a tattoo?
manda40475 04-03-2007, 05:59 PM Something in another thread made me think of this. So many people have tattoos these days including people you would never expect. Do you have a tattoo? Where? What of? Want more?
I got my first tattoo when I was 22 and celebrating my best friend's birthday. We got matching Tweety tattoos on our right ankles, but my mine is an angel and hers is the devil. :evil4: My dh got jealous and so four months later, he and I got matching red-eyed green tree frog tattoos on our right shoulders. Of course it sucks now that we are divorced, but no one ever sees it anyway. LOL
I would love to get another tat as they are quite addictive, but I don't know what I would want. Nick has one that is an armband and wants another as well. These pictures are old and not that great, but here are my tats.

I don't have any tattoo's
kimber 04-03-2007, 06:27 PM Hi
Nope, none for me
I remember going to a tat shop when I was 16/17
I wanted to get a shark but didn't have the $$....I remember it was $80+
I thought about it again in my early 20's but was so indecisive, I could never decide what I wanted and where to get it...LOL
Now I'm almost 34 and to old...LOL
amylou1977 04-03-2007, 06:34 PM no not for me to permanant i just had this discusion with my niece she got her 1st one two purplish flowers i think they are big but its not my body
manda40475 04-03-2007, 07:03 PM Yeah my mom talks about how they will look when I'm all old and saggy and wrinkly. LOL I really don't care. Out of the two, I regret the frog the most and I guess it's just because the only meaning it held for me was sharing that bond with my ex. After we split, I considered getting 2 baby frogs to go along with it to represent our two children, but I never did. I would like to get a tat that somehow tied into all 3 of my kids.
Katey 04-03-2007, 07:44 PM I have a V-shaped thing on my lower back. It was just a pic that I found at the shop that I liked, but my best friend says it looks like the female reproductive system and when you look at it, it kind of does:oops:
I had a belly button ring, but I took it out when I was perg. I think I will get it done again if I ever get my abs back.
AvasMommy 04-03-2007, 07:47 PM Yes, I too have a "tramp stamp" on my lower back.:evil4: It's a sun, I got it when I was 16. It's pretty, it doesn't bother me b/c I never have to see it, but when I'm old, I probably won't be too thrilled with it.
I used to have several piercings also...belly button, eyebrow, tongue, that little triangular piece of your ear, and then thru the back cartilage of my ear, but those are all gone now.
Since I became a mom, I'm much less "hardcore" than I used to be!:haha:
I have "Aquarius" in script with the glyph of it on my right collarbone. The glyph is supposed to look like 2 "waves", but I've had people tell me it looks like a couple of strips of bacon. UGH. I got it as a 21st birthday present to myself. I knew my boyfriend at the time wasn't going to be happy about it, so I hid it for 3 days. I got it on my collarbone because I thought that was an unusual placement and I find collarbones very erogenous.
I also have "The Commish" on my left shoulder. I started a Ladies' Poker Group about 8 years ago (BEFORE the Texas Hold 'Em craze took over!) and when all of the original members were in Vegas in '01, 4 out of 5 of us got "poker" tattoos together. Since I was the "founder" of the group, they dubbed me "The Commish" and the "O" in Commish is a red heart like in a deck of cards. The rest is black lettering.
DH has told me I'm *DONE* getting tattoos. WhatEVAH.
Now that I'm done having kids, I'd love to get something in honor of the boys. Since DH is a firefighter, I thought about getting the Maltese Cross with 2 arms having the boys names and birthdates and the other 2 arms having our names and birthdates with our last name and wedding date in the middle, but I think THAT would really send DH over the edge, because it would have to be HUGE. 1/2 LOL. :evil4: Plus, I can't think where to put it. Maybe I could talk HIM into getting it! :rolling:
I also found this tattoo for my friend who already had 2 and couldn't decide what else to get:

It was perfect because she used to be a sun worshipper (before getting diagnosed with Rosacea) and she's also a musician. She also appreciates symmetry and I suggested she get it right between her shoulder blades. It looks AWESOME!
Christine 04-03-2007, 08:12 PM None here - I am too big of a chicken and too cheap. See the other thread:smt119
anna1 04-03-2007, 10:40 PM None here either, I always wanted one on my lower back but I am way to indecisive...being that is forever. I used to have a punch of peircing in hs too, all gone now.
eaglemansbaby1124 04-03-2007, 11:08 PM I have one tat. I got it back in high school. It is of a dragonfly. My brother did it while we were both drunk off our butts.
scarlet 04-04-2007, 02:11 AM Your brother? OUCH!
scarlet 04-04-2007, 02:11 AM Your brother? OUCH!
nikkib 04-04-2007, 05:50 AM none for me...too permanent...im a scardy cat.
Emily M 04-04-2007, 07:31 AM None here, my dh has a mickey mouse on his back and an eagle with a flag on his arm.
Myrita 04-04-2007, 10:56 AM I have a black and orange butterfly in the back of my skull (don't ask *rolls her eyes*) and a Calla lillie in the small of my back. I'm actually thinking of getting the burning baby on my wrist or shoulder. You know as a conversation starter for GERD. Sounds silly, right? I thought it'd be cute w/ Peanut's name under it. Whadya guys think?
I got the "tramp stamp" here...LOL...a butterfly. I can't even see if so it doesn't bother me. I wanted something in place that I could show off if I wanted to (in a bathing suit I guess cause its not like a I midrift shirts or anything...ha ha), but is easy to hide.
Karas Mom 04-04-2007, 11:14 AM Ugh, yes. I have "tramp stamp" too. A tribal sun (black) on my lower back. I got it on an impulse when I was 25 (I'm now 34), right after I caught my then (tattoed & nipple pierced) boyfriend sleeping with someone else (a former friend). The tattoo didn't turn out very good, and now especially that I am about 40 lbs. heavier, I HATE it. I would like to have it removed someday, but it is not in the budget for now . . .
steveangela1 04-04-2007, 11:16 AM Yes, I have 2 rose buds and a rose on my ankle.. I am actually going to get it coverd up with a tribal something... I am cherokee so it fits me better than the chiche rose....
btw Katey... your baby pic is sooooo cute! shes beautiful!
eaglemansbaby1124 04-04-2007, 01:34 PM Your brother? OUCH!
Yeah my brother. But I was so plastered I didn't even feel a thing:drinkalot: . My mom didn't even know I had it till a few years ago and I got it when I was like 16 and I am 30 now.
Miori 04-04-2007, 01:43 PM I have a small purple violet on the inside of my left ankle. It's not big, a little bigger than a quarter, I'd say. Got in in college, a sorority thing, but I still like it over 10 yrs later. :smt036
stephiehatt 04-04-2007, 02:58 PM Never got one, never really wanted too. First of all I didn't see subjecting myself to the pain of getting something that I might not be so crazy about years later. Like Nikki, it's too permanent for me. DH has always talked about getting an armband one and went twice to do it but b/c he was drunk they wouldn't. (Very responsible tattoo parlors in Chicago). I got my ears double pierced back in college (I know, I know, crazy girl!) and I don't wear anything in the second hole now and they still won't close up and I am annoyed about that. So that kind of goes along w/why I wouldn't do a tattoo as with my ever changing likes/dislikes I am sure at some point I would wish I hadn't. But DH loves those lower back ones, he thinks they are sexy. I always like the armband ones on guys, provided they had some decent looking arms and not little twigs!
Tell me if you have ever seen anything like this though. You know those little rods that people sometimes pierce through their lip or eyebrow? At my fertility clinic once this very young, attractive, woman with a killer body comes in wearing very low rise jeans and skinny, cropped shirt. On her lower back, where some ofyou have your "tramp stamps" (love that term BTW!) she had one of those rods pierced through her skin horizontally. I was absolutely revolted. First of all, I don't know how they missed her spine putting that in. Second of all, how freaking uncomfortable would that be??? Third of all, WTH would you do that? Ick! I get chills just thinking about it.
amylou1977 04-04-2007, 03:01 PM ick is right
kerrinry 04-04-2007, 03:04 PM I have a yellow rose on my left shoulder (18 yrs.) and an arm band that says RYAN all around it. I got it on my 25th birthday, my dad took me. He chickened out and only got 1/2 band WUSS! I got it for my son. I was a single mom and it represents our times. It means a lot to me. Ironically 3 years. later I married a Ryan, crazy huh?
JennyLynn 04-04-2007, 05:00 PM I have a small red rose and black heart on my right ankle (18).
JennyLynn 04-04-2007, 05:01 PM I have a small red rose and black heart on my right ankle (18).
my2guys 04-04-2007, 08:41 PM I have one that was totally a college "rebellion" thing, that I now regret big time. I have a psychadelic mushroom on my left hip. My ex bf got one too..it was her artwork. I have never done "shrooms" but that is always the assumption. Imagine having to try to explain that tattoo to the OB....he was cool, but totally embarrassing:(
Debbie 04-05-2007, 12:24 AM Me nope!!!
Dh....a doobie with a face, arms, and legs with smoke for hair...he told the girls it was a carrot..it's on his forearm along with the bowl burn (yes get it red hot and burn yourself..idiots!!!) that was popular when we were in high school:sad3:
DD Jen has a wolf foot print on her ankle
DD Steph has a tramp stamp...tribal with a rose in the center
DD Eden has none ...yet...she wants one though
Jaydens dad has one in the works .....it's a oriental dragon...it starts at the right peck and travels over his shoulder and around his torso....it is not colored in yet....he has yin on one wrist and yang on the other.
Between all my girls the piercings are abundant...at one time they had ...but have lost most now
Jen, eyebrow, tongue, nose. several on the ears
Steph, eyebrow, on the ears, both nipples, belly
Eden, eyebrow, belly, tongue several on ears
Josh, Jaydens dad...labret, ears-large holes , he took them out, eyebrow, penis
cariberry77 04-05-2007, 02:00 AM I have the Japanese character for friendship on the top of my foot, and my college roommates all have the same tattoo although in different places on their bodies. What makes it really special is that one roommate was Japanese and she drew the template for the tattoo. Recently the tattoo became even more important because our youngest roommate was killed in a car accident a year and a half ago.
I also have a "tramp stamp" on my lower back. It's a tribal design with some hawaiian flowers and the aries symbol - very colorful, but I hate it. I only got it to get it - it has no special significance and I wish I'd waited and gotten something more meaningful.
cariberry77 04-05-2007, 02:01 AM btw Katey... your baby pic is sooooo cute! shes beautiful!
I was thinking this very thing. She is exceptionally gorgeous for a newborn!!!
stephiehatt 04-05-2007, 09:04 AM Debbie
My BIL had those large ear holes too and i kept telling him at some point he would regret it. And now of course he does. It makes his ears look goofy now.
He has tattoos all over his arms and back. Back from his wild druggie days.
AvasMommy 04-05-2007, 09:06 AM I find tatoos on a man extremely hot, especially full sleeves. Oddly enough, my dh has not a one.

Funny...I find tats on men sexy as well but DH doesn't have any...he is as straight lace as they come...LOL
I've actually been thinking of getting something with the kids initials...
My bro is full of tats and piercings...he isn't a druggie and is a corrections officer and can get away with it..he was just promoted to Lieutenant

LOL Kim, my BIL is interviewing for a probation officer now. He is a recovering addict, been clean for 4 years now and is currently a rehab counselor. He really turned his life around. But with his shaved head, tats, and holes in his ears he still freaks the hell out of some people!
