Jennifer had telephone me one day and felt so alone. She had seen our story/Shae-Lynne's story in a local newspaper and told me she just cried and cried and was thrilled to find someone that understood.

I told her to check out IRD, but at the time she just didn't have access to a computer. So I offered to print out the entire website, which I did and I mailed it to her.

A few months had passed and I rec'd a really nice thank you card from her. I almost cried. I am not a mushy person, but it was just so thoughtful.

Her son Aidan was going through a rough time. We e-mailed each other a little bit and she joined the site. She posted a few times, not much as she was working two jobs and handling a reflux baby.

She is a bartender at a local bar. I never to go bars, but decided one Friday night I would go meet her. So this old grammy headed out on a Friday night (band playing, loud, etc). We talked a bit and she hugged me and I hugged her (I am not a hugging person at all....never...only with a smiley). But there was a connection. Like we both already knew each other.

Anyway I went back to talk more with her on a less busy time.

A few months later, Roni and Shae-Lynne came here to visit so Jenn came by with Aidan. It was nice. She knew Roni was staying here for about three weeks, so she offered to come back so that her and Roni and the reflux kids could spend some time together at the mall.

Jenn later told me it was a good thing Roni didn't live close b/c they would be the best of friends....they both love the mall and shopping.

In the fall the local mall, The Galleria Mall, was having a health fair that I had attended before that. I asked Jenn if she would like to join me and she re-arranged her scheduled, got time off and helped me out.

Notice she also had on her Reflux T-Shirt.

I see her from time to time...when I need a drink....LOL. Thankfully, Aidan was one of the lucky ones that have outgrown reflux.

However, I don't think Jenn will ever forget what she went through with Aidan when he was younger.

He is a real handsome little guy (as you can see in the picture).

Rachel, you are awesome.

Thanks for thinking of such a nice idea. Reflux moms meeting reflux moms/grandmothers.

This also shows how dedicated I am to raising awareness of infant reflux! LOL, it is reminder to me to get out there and do something.

I've had a few leads recently to met local Moms, will let you know once we get together.
