Yep, we were actually able to meet. I'm telling you, when we finally got to see each other, we thought a miracle had occured. :smt036 Considering the only nutrition I had that day was left over applesauce from Peanut's OT session and 2 cups of coffee, I think we did pretty well. We decide the zoo would be the best place to meet since we could keep B entertained and actually talk. Unfortunately, our kiddos had other plans. Bethany's scheduled went all wonky, Peanut refused to eat all morning and the weather went from beautiful to scary in less than 3 hours. I really thought we were doomed, but Gerdling moms leap all obstacles. Bethany got a nap, Peanut drank 3 ounces and my hubby got home in time to drop me off :smt041 WE WERE ON!!:yahoo:

We met at the animal clock tower and hugged. Yes, I'm here to tell you Mary hugs!! As much as she's always putting herself down, she was very pretty and sweet. She looks like a freaking teenager and should stop calling herself fat 'cause I could breathe on her and she would break!! :sad5: We went into the zoo and actually got to see some animals. We were very lucky that B actually saw an urangutan; an elephant and some pretty cool invertebrates. Peanut was more excited about the coral reef section and the butterfly house. She thought those were neat, but she was more interested in Bethany. She's never seen an older little girl so she thought she was neat.

After we assured Mary that the Orb spinning spiders were not going to eat her (they're not enclosed, but out in an open display) We sat down and gave the kids something to eat. Peanut ate really well and Bethany almost finished her entire cup of Neocate :party0049: . We went to see the Elephants (one of B's fav animals) and she got really lucky 'cause it came right to us on a mission for a ball. We also found out he was male  Although, for the longest time, Mary and I thought, "his tail looks funny". It was most definately not his tail  !! I think all the animals thought Mary was hot:evil4: , 'cause even the Scarab Beetles were getting their groove on:oops: !!

By this time, both Mary and I were starving!! So Mary bought us all a round of Barbecue from Rocklands. Bethany ate some chips and Peanut thought it was a nice time for a nap. We put an end to our day, were it started, the animal clock tower. I got another hug  and both Bethany and Peanut said good bye.

It was a great day and I"VE GOT PICTURES!! Mary got the ones of both of us together, but these are the ones that made my heart melt. Enjoy!!

It's actually a sheep graco stroller, but I think all Graco stroller look the same except for the material. I was actually looking for the winnie the pooh one, but they didn't sell it her :sad5: Thank you so much. I love the pics too.

Thanks for sharing the pics, although Myrita Peanut is not such a Peanut anymore. You might need to start calling her Walnut or something. LOL B definitely looked like she enjoyed Peanut's company. Cute pictures.

Glad you guys were able to meet up, sounds like a fun time. I did not see the zoo in my brief stay. Where is it and is that where all the pandas are? I kept seeing stuff with pandas on it at the gift shops.

Yes, we have two pandas on loan and they've had a baby so it's a big deal in DC. Unfortunately, we didn't get to see them because of time (and energy) restraints. The Smithsonian is researching the breeding patterns of Pandas to try to get them to have more babies. They're having quite a bit of difficulty so they're trying to get China to let them keep the Pandas for another year. They're supposed to go back next year. :sad5: Pandas only breed in very specific conditions. They reach puberty very late in life, have very little experience breeding because very few Pandas are in existance (bamboo forests are only 15 % percent of China and Pandas only eat bamboo) to teach other Pandas how to. They are also in heat for only 3 days out of the year :banghead: Therefore, our Panda baby is quite a little miracle. Okay, I'm done w/ the Biology lesson. Mary got an earful of this stuff too. I'm such a geek!!

I think Peanut was great practice for B, but H E double hockey sticks will freez before I give Peanut a sibling. Although, I shouldn't say never because my Mom says that always ends up jinxing you so..I'll say HAHAHA :haha: :angry7: I don't think so.

Myrita--you should really think about a career in color commentary--what a great description of our day! :smt036

Okay, here's what Myrita left out:
1. Orb spiders WILL eat you. I just know it.
2. I dragged along my crazy cousins--thanks for not mentioning PJ's odd sense of humor! :-)
3. She is my witness that I did give B her Neocate in a cup without the slow-flow valve
4. Myrita is quite possibly the most bubbly person I've ever met...and Peanut is so cute you could just eat her up. :-)
5. I slipped her a 20 to say that I look like a teenager. :smt036 Nothing made me feel quite as old as telling Myrita that I lived in DC for a couple of months (for work) in the 90's and she told me she was still in high school. :evil4:
6. We really did have a good time (well, at least I did!) and I'll post my pics sometime today (provided my children give me a few moments' peace!)
7. She wasn't kidding about the hug--I really did hug her. And I didn't get cooties or go into sugar shock. There is hope for people like me! :smt041

Thanks for a fun day, Myrita! I'm looking forward to pestering you the next time I'm in the area!

I'm here to tell you that swearing you'll never have another is a dangerous thing...look where it got me. :evil4:
