My name is Emily and my son, Nils, is 5.5 mos. We've been dealing with reflux issues since birth. At 2 weeks he was put on Zantac, but he kept having problems with it so at about 3.5 mos Prevacid was added as well and he's done much better on it. However, he's still having problems gaining weight. He just won't eat much at one time. He's only about 14lbs and it's going up every so slowly, about 2oz a week, sometimes less. He's breastfed with solids 1x a day. Not a huge fan of solids either. He's also a night eater and will clusterfeed all night long, but at least he eats then. I'm lucky if I can get him to nurse for 2 mins during the day. I hear that reflux is peaking about this time so I hope things do get better after 6 mos.

I'm looking forward to getting to know more of you! Reflux has made life quite challenging!

Welcome to the IRD boards, Emily! My son also started out on Zantac before being switched to Prevacid and that has worked well for us. He did "peak" around 4 months and we increased his dosage at that time. Hope you find some help for Nils!
