Lori,
I posted this in "Questions", but needed also to hear it from you.
I've been running a warm vapor humidifier in Ava's room for almost all winter, adding the eucalipusy liquid to it, just cuz I like the scent.
Now I am all worried if it may have caused her to have all these EI's and colds.
Please let me know what you think.

Ella, there are only two ways that I can think of that the vaporizer could have caused problems for Ava. One, if she is allergic to the eucalyptus oil. Some people are, but you would have noticed symptoms by now I think. And two, if the vaporizer wasn't cleaned and disinfected regularly. Yes, bowls of water (like vaporizers and humidifiers) can encourage the growth of bacteria that would then have become aerosolized and likely to be inhaled. However, if you cleaned it regularly, this shouldn't have been a problem. Don't beat yourself up. Even if the humidifier contributed, Ava's still really susceptible to EIs regardless of what you may or may not have done. I use a humidifier in my room (and Brenna's) every night because dry air tends to dry out my sinuses and then lead to a SI. I don't really think you in any way caused Ava's EIs.
