My 3 year old was recently diagnosed with reflux. We knew and treated it when he was an infant but at 13 months I was told he had grown out of it. We now know that was wrong. I am just curious what things I should take out of his diet.

Some questions: Do I need to get rid of dairy or just whole milk dairy products? What about any sort of tomatoe or citrus? Chocolate? Chocolate milk?

Thanks for the help

I'm sure someone will chime in w/ the list, I think there is one on here somewhere. My dr. list says NO citrus, chocolate, tomatoes, etc... everything my 2 yr. old loves.

I haven't heard to stay away from dairy though.

I think dairy is only a problem if they have a milk allergy or intolerance, but I am not sure. I hope someone will come a long that will be more help for you.

Unless your child has a dairy allergy or intolerance, there's no reason to eliminate dairy products from the diet. They're a wonderful source of protein and calcium, both critical for growing kidlets.
