okay, now Naomi is 1 I think it is time to wean...starting with the lunch time feed. I will probably keep the morning and night for a while (for my sake!). So, how do I do this???

Today I just didn't give it to her and gave her water in the cup and put her down. Mind you she was so tired from being out all morning that she fell asleep within a few mins and I hadn't fed her since 5am, so thats a good start hey? BUT, do I have to give her MILK at lunch or can I just give her water??? She still doesn't eat Heaps of food at each meal, probably about 2-3oz. so what do you think? is it too early to wean her??

I think that it would be good for me to have a bit of freedom, but I don't want to make her miss out. It is good for her bowels too. And can I give her full cream milk or should I give her formula? and I won't introduce the bottle, i will just give it in a sippy cup.

When I cut out Sebastian's lunch time bottle I replaced it with a snack. He would sit with me on the couch and eat his crackers and drink water from his sippy while we watched sesame street.

The first couple of days were rough. He was pretty whiny and would keep going into the kitchen and looking for a bottle, but it did not take long for him to get over it.

He has now gone to one nap a day, so everything has changed and he does not miss the bottle at all.

do you think she is still too young to wean the lunch feed? it is a breastfeed. she only just turned one.

You might want to talk to the dr about it since she is small. My ped said Sebastian should only be getting 16 oz of formual after he turned one so that he would eat more real food. Since doing that he has gone from the 35% for weight to the 25%, so if she does not eat a lot of solids then you may want to keep her on the extra breast milk longer.
