my son is fighting his bottles and seems to be choking on formula every bottle atleast 7 times. he makes this weird scared expression and then pulls right back and panicks then about 5 seconds later has a wet cough and cries. i find that after a bottle (about 5 mins) i notice he has staticky breathing. what could this mean? alot when he is laying down or even on an incline on his back. he does this when he refluxes too.

My first inclination is that he is aspirating formula into his lungs. This is when he swallows, then refluxes, and some of the formula leaks into his trachea and lungs. I would definitely talk to a physician about this as it can lead to very severe pneumonia. Thickening his feeds and keeping him upright at least 30 minutes after feeds should help.

i do keep him upright after feeds but his tummy does not agree with thickened feeds at all. so do i see a gp or a specialist?

Start with your GP. You can get a referral to specialist if needed from the GP. Watch him closely, if you see him having increasing respiratory difficulty or turning blue around the mouth or hands, get to the ER ASAP! Aspiration pneumonia can sneak up on you.

Have you discussed this with his doctor? If not, you definitely should -- soon.
