Ok....just had to share!!! Thank to everyone's wonderful advice about the Solutabs/Fastabs, we tried a few different things. We mixed it with apple juice and he took it!!! We had it in a little medicine cup, but found the dissolved medicine was sticking a lot to the sides. I then used someone else's great idea of a spoon. He took it and loved it. I then tried it with just water dissolving it on a spoon, and he has been taking it every day with NO problems. We give him the 30 mg dose in the morning, and then still have him on the Ranitidine before bed. This combo seems to be working really well. He has slept through the night at least 3 times in the last week and a half. This is a huge improvement. Whenhe does wake up, it is usually very brief and he is no longer thrashing in his bed all night long and having difficulty settling. We even cut out his Nasonex altogether last night (after weaning it down for a few weeks) and he slept through the night!!! He got an amazing 10 hours of sleep...in a row...without me waking up!!! I was ectastic!!! He seems so much happier! He is hardly ever rubbing his nose since being on the reflux meds, is eating way better (especially breakfast which he never ate before very good), and has way less tantrums. He used to have upwards of 10-20 tantrums a day. He now goes days without having any. I am amazed at the difference. The ENT we saw yesterday (just the resident for some reason) said that only a very small number of kids actually need both Prevacid and Zantac, and that it is too much medicine and he should only be on Prevacid 15 mg twice a day and cut out the Zantac. I am scared to change anything as he really seems to have responded well to the combination and sleeps way better on the Zantac. I guess we have to give it a try, but thought it was weird as it seems that not a small percentage, but lot's of kids are on both, especially on this website. Anyways....to make a long story short.....:yahoo: Thanks for all your advice and support!! You are wonderful! Take care.
