The article says this is a fatal reaction too....I'm so glad I am nosey and looked in Stephs freezer and saw it the other day ...she doesn't pay attention to the news much and would have fed it to him

Wow, that's scary!! Listeriosis is a VERY scary type of food poisoning, especially if you're pregnant. I hope all of our soon to be new mommies check their freezers.

My dh is a self employed seasonal worker ...this winter he went to work on a dairy farm ..to make some extra $....phew!!! He loves it, says if he win the lottery he'd buy a farm...ummm...NO!:violent1:

My dh grew up on a farm with his parents and 10 siblings. If they didn't raise it, they didn't eat it! I however am the daughter of two foodservice providers, so I tend to like the more upscale foods. We did have a garden growing up and I've helped my mom can fruits, veggies, pickles, and jellies, but who has the time to do that now??? My grandmother had chickens and NO WAY, NO HOW am I going into the chicken business. They're NASTY little creatures!!:sad5:

I did the garden ,chickens, pigs, steer, goats, guineas, rabbits, quail, pheasants, ducks, peacocks, horses...more I'm sure, we lived on my in-laws Hobby farm for several years...canning, freezing, bailing hay :angry7: !!!! No more of that for me...someone else can do it...I'll reap the benefits of their hard work..:oops:

My dh did most of the butchering himself....not large livestock obviously.....
