she did it again! Twice tonight she bit my nipple.! :sad2: i don't know if she was tired, or just wanted a nibble, but man, it hurt, and I let her know too. I said "NO!" and she cried and cried. poor bubba. At least hopefully she wont do it again...or lets hope not.

Sure--I'll go delete your other post.

B used to bite me and there's a way we got her to stop; however, I have pregnancy brain and can't remember. Let me grab my nursing mother's guide this morning and get back to you.

Ouch!! :sad5:

Double ouch. Zack seems to go through 1-2 wks of biting every time he is teething. (Well, the two times he's teethed so far!) He has actually drawn blood on multiple occasions. OUCH! The first time we went through this, I actually broke down in tears one night and thought, "If this goes on, I can't keep bfing." ...This from someone who bf dd1 til she was 32 mos and I was 7 mos pg...

What I've started doing is nursing with my finger right near his mouth. If it seems like he's tensing up or anything, I pop him off right away before he can bite. This works pretty well. Also, if you think it could be teething related, you could try Oragel or seomthing about 5 min before you nurse.

I know that the instinct is to scream or say NO!, but do be aware that you could inspire a nursing strike, if you really scare your little one.

Anyway, I've btdt and I have worlds of sympathy for you. Hopefully it was an isolated incident!!!

Hurts, huh??? Ava bit me like a rabid pit bull right before we quit nursing at 19 mos. We weren't even nursing, I was just getting dressed, when she bounced over on the bed to do one of her "drive-bys" and bit the crap outta me! That's basically how I knew she was almost done, little stinker!

Oh you poor girl! Roman bites me all the time, and it hurts like @#*&, and he doesn't even have teeth yet! I try to follow Tricksie's advice and not scream, but it's involuntary when he bites down really hard. Of course, I scream - he gets scared and has a meltdown, but the next day he's biting again! Can't wait to hear from Mary about how they stopped the biting. I'd love to nip it in the bud before he grows teeth!

One day I am gonna make one of those cute baby t-shirts that says...

My momma says...don't bite the boobie that feeds you!

Both of my kids have bit me before...Nicole right before she weaned and Joshua every now and again. Someone told me to flick the cheek or pull a little bit of hair and they will never do it again. I just didn't have the heart to do it though...so I screamed like the rest of you and he cried...I do stop the feed though as soon as he bites and tell him, "No more milkies if you bite momma." I think he is starting to get it.
