Hi

I'm thinking of switching my 3 1/2yr old ds (weighs 31-32 pounds) to zantac efferdose
Can u give me an idea of what a good dose would be...I have a call into his ped now for the rx
I would like to be fairly aggressive....
Also, can this be dissolved in water/rice milk and taken with food etc?
OR is it best to give with a liquid and wait...
Any side effects I should watch out for?

Hi , the ranitidine dose is 4-10 mg / kg / day for gerd (divided twice daily) max 150 mg/day. So and agressive dose is the 75 mg twice daily. (3x25 mg tab dissolved in 5 ml water until completely dissolved. It should be given with meals and bedtime. Well tolerated usually (mild abdominal or gi upset, constipation, sedation, confusion at higher doses, headache).
