I need to go out of town for a weekend and would like to leave baby with grandma, and would just like the occasional break anyway. I'm trying to introduce baby to a bottle now in preparation for my trip, but I'm having trouble pumping enough milk to bottle feed breast milk, but baby refuses formula. Any suggestions for getting him to take formula occassionally?

I had the same problem at one point when she was on antibiotics (at the same time I had decided to reduce to pumping once a day). There just wasn't enough breastmilk, and she wouldn't eat formula straight. I slowly got her back onto formula by mixing it. Starting with a larger portion of breastmilk (like 75% bm to 25% formula), and then slowly reducing the proportion of breastmilk until it was pure formula.

It might be worth a shot. Good luck!

I think Roni use to pump as much as she could ahead of time. I think it freezes well, then you can take out enough supply for when you are away?

I am only the grandmother, trying to throw in my two cents worth...:smt102

Hope someone else chimes in with an idea.
