Hi

Just wondering what your thoughts are regarding the best PPi for a high allergic child (allergic to dairy, soy, corn and several other intolerances)
I thought I remember hearing losec capsules contain dairy/lactose...do you know if this is true?

Thanks again!!

Hi, as far as I can see there is no lactose or dairy in losec, losec mups or generic omeprazole. However prevacid capsules do have lactose which I see Zachary is on.

Thanks

Zach was on prevacid tabs, but wasn't responding well
He is now on pepcid, but I'm afraid after 8 weeks he is having reflux issues
I'm not sure yet if he will need a PPI, but if he does I'm thinking about what to try...

Thanks so much

Prevacid and losec are much different in how they work compared with pepcid, zantac, axid or tagamet. So much so that they are often used in conjuntion with each other.. When a PPI seems to be not working fully, adding one of these others seems to help.
