Anyone dealing w/ this? What are you doing? Ilana seems to meet some of the symptoms and we see the GI next week so I'm going to ask. I know it happens less in bfing and it's better for them, but I'm assuming it does happen still though. I'm almost hoping that's what it is and we can 'fix' it and maybe it'll help her gain weight.

I am not so sure, we were never diagnosed DGE while we were breastfeeding, but I had a really hard time doing it, and I have thought that this must have been some of the issue, cause he would never feed for long, even though he was starving. I do wonder if we had meds for it then, rather than being told when he was two that he must have a degree of DGE whether things would have been better.

Naomi has DGE and is bfing. she has always had problems in this area and i have bfed her from the beginning until now and she is 10 months old. She is on erythromycin which is helping alot. What are the symptoms you are experiencing? naomi would vomit up to 5/6 hours after a feed continually...

Sammy has severe DGE w/ a 5% emptying scan after 1 1/2 hr. He is having a pyloraplasty done on the 30th. He has been on Reglan for 5 months and it has not helped. I know his vomitting was related to that because he had the fundo and when he feeds now on the tube it makes him still retch horribly. Just my thought, but I do believe that he may have just needed a pyloraplasty as opposed to the fundo and pyloraplasty.

Have any tests been done?

No testing yet, we don't see the GI till Tuesday. I'm going to talk to her about it. I'm pretty sure she'll schedule the upper GI as they did it w/ my ds, but I'm going to ask for the emptying scan at the same time (wasn't done for Evan, but he never spit up). She just started becoming more spitty lately. She woke up this morning after an hour or more since her last feed and just puked chunks all over. Then she did that 2 more times today. She's also been spitting up just a little milk after eating like she ate too much, but she doesn't eat for very long and can go long times w/out eating. She's been sleeping 6 hours at night (none of my other kids did that at this age) and then she eats and we have a few horrible hours then (she eats at 4am so I'm exhausted b/c it takes a long time to get her comfortable and back to sleep). I've just never really dealt w/ a pukey baby till now, it's awlays been silent. She also has very low weight gain. The dr wasn't concerned at her last appt though b/c Evan is very small too, just naturally.
