I got a "mo mill" tonight for more milk from Iain!:yahoo:

YAHOO!

Speech has been extremely slow for this little guy, but when we start I am absolutely thrilled!

New words have also included:

1. "Bizzy" for busy. If you ask him what he is doing he will sometimes answer "Bizzy, bizzy, bizzy". And you know he usually is, so it is what I would call appropriate!:haha:

2. "Ma" for Grandma. When my Mother came to spend time with us at Christmas he melted her heart by saying "Ma" which is what my older boys call her. It was just once, but it was pretty clear and I am sure we shall hear it again.

3. "Reddy, st, GO!" for Ready, set, GO! From his shake and go car set! It is not really that clear and you have to strain to hear the first two words to decipher, but the GO is really, really clear!:smt041 We have worked on the word "ready" for about a year now and it is truly coming along well.

4. "Ba" for bath.

In the past, he has lost all speech and signs when he has picked up new words or phrases. This time he seems to be retaining some of them while he increases his vocabulary. I even saw a sign for "more" a few days ago, so we are still on track!:ura:

He turns 3 years old in early February and does not learn speech in a "normal" way. We are supposed to get back into the speech program again, but I think there is a stall until we have him developmentally screened and we have suffered a cancellation there from this past November and are STILL awaiting word when we are re-sheduled.

He will still use words or phrases for non-appropriate times. For instance, he was stuck on "where's the ball" for a LONG time and would say it anytime, anywhere. We have lost that phrase during this speech increase, but that is ok I think.

For now, I am just thrilled as in the last few weeks he has learned a LOT! And has retained most of his previous speech and at least one sign. That is just fantastic and I am so happy I am dancing around.:yahoo:

:smt041 I LOVE to hear this kind of thing Leigh!!!

Allie has lost a few words (her vocab was pretty limited anyway) and has recently said mama and baba and has repeated us when we say them. It's few and far between, but I know how it is to hang on every word that these little kids utter.

:party21:

I'm doing the happy dance for you guys right now!! :party0049:

That's awesome, Leigh! My absolute favorite thing about being a parent is hearing my child's voice and being able to carry on a simple conversation with Jack.
