We just started this and Ilana is getting 12mg a day of meds. She's about 8.5#. It seems low compared to the dosing chart on the website. Also, can we keep the water that has the dissolved pill in it or do we throw it out each time and start w/ a new pill. She is on BID dosing.

Hi, just throw the unused portion away and start with a new pill the next dose. What is it you mean when you say 8.5#? She should be getting 4-10 mg /kg / day in one or divided into 2 doses.

Yeah, that's how much she weighs or 3.9kg. So it seems she's being underdosed. I'll have to look at the dosing instructions again that came w/ the meds, but I'm pretty sure there's only 25mg of meds in each pill. Here's what zantac says about dosing.

Hi, that is just a little on the low side but really not that low. It just means there is room to go up with that ranitidine. She could go as high as 39 mg per day.
