I feel like a bit of a board hog
My question is that my ds is on clarinex syrup, nasonex, and singular for recurrent sinus infection
His mood seems slightly better overall since being put on all 3 meds, but he is still getting recurrent SI's
I remember hearing or reading that allergy meds could become ineffective if you are on the same one for a long period of time
My ds has been on clarinex syrup for over a year at least now...would it make sense to try zyrtec etc

Hi Kim, this is true of allergy meds. Particularly antihistamines but sometimes with the other two he is on. Switching to another antihistamine is usually the next logical choice after one gives out.

I'm frustrated because I've spoken to several Dr (allergist, ENT and ped) and they assure me clarinex no matter how long you are on it, becomes ineffective
