I really think my son has some type of stomach emptying issue. He had a gastric emptying test and it came out normal, but honestly just SHOCKS me! He has all these symtoms. He is fussy all the time :( Is there anything else I could have them look for? What is dumping syndrome?
Vomiting
Vomiting hours after meals
Vomited food that appears to have not been digested
Swollen belly
sorry your son is having a bad time
I think dumping syndrome is where the stomache contents empties into the intestines rapidly i think i can be either straight after a feed or even a small wile after but i am not sure exectly hopefully someone more clued up will chime in and give more info
Could he posobly his pyloris be spasming (sp) i know this cause intermitent vomiting , i do know a lot of reluxers seem to puke all day numerous hours after a feed

I don't know much about DGE or Dumping symdrome. I know you said in you other post that your son has been on reglan for two months. If it was DGE then that should be helping him. I hope you are able to figure things out soon.

Here is a link on the dumping syndrome:

Is your baby constipated? Sometimes Shae-Lynne vomited a lot if she were constipated. Just by the puking Roni knew she had to go.
I am only the grandmother and don't know anything, but I hope the link helps.

Maybe you should read some of the suggestions under the constipation forum. Lots of Moms have this problem with their refluxers. I know the formula that Shae-Lynne is tube fed (Neocate) is what causes her to be constipated sometimes.
Makes sense if they are full of sh*t they are going to vomit more! Right?
Best wishes

GES can be great tools for DX DGE.But,I know from our experience there are so many things that affect motility in children.Things such as illness,teething...ect can make it ten times worse.
For example we Know Emily Grace has Vagal nerve damage and we have had more GES than I can remember yet each and every time we get a different result.Because that is just a moment in time and if your little one happens to be having a "good day" than the results they will get will be what he is like on a Good day.
I know you mentioned you thought maybe he was constipated. If so than that is going to slow down the entire GI track and make the stomach contents move out at a slower pace as well.
As a Mom who has been there....my best advice is if you feel like something is not right don't give up.
I hope he feels better soon!!!!

I think DX is short for diagonsing an illness and DGE is Delayed Gastric Emptying! Correct me if i'm worng though!!
If your son is constipated this will make the reflux much much worse, my daughter is a silent refluxer so is never sick but when she is constipated i can tell as she will reflux ALOT more and you can literally hear the liquid slooshing up and down her throat. It makes it so bad for K that sometimes i cannot believe constipation is causing it but it does.
There are options for helping our babes poop so check out the poop forum for more help on this;-)
