The SnackMaster sips no more! But, LOL, I still have a supply that could nourish an entire 3rd world country! Honestly, will I be the only lactating retiree out there? Will it end before they stick me in a home?:haha: :haha: :haha: :haha: :haha: :haha: :haha: :haha: :haha: :haha: :haha: :haha: :haha: :haha: :haha:

Not painful at all...but it's definitely still there...they're full, but not sore, so I don't know what to think.

Linds, really they have banks for that stuff. Just rent yourself a pump and go to town. You could make a little extra for the holidays! I have read two articles about these breast milk banks in the last month or so. People pay big bucks for the stuff. I mean, why just let it all go to waste?

Nah, Steph...I'm done...now I can have a cocktail (or 4!;-) ) with a little less guilt! I lasted long enough...I'd like to retire the old nursing "over the shoulder boulder holders".

Lindsay congratulations hun, that was a huge big committment that you gave your little girl, I really admire anyone who can and does breastfeed for so long, I know how you are feeling in a couple of days it was like it never happenned, so have those drinks you really deserve them.

over here they do. I had to go through the County becuase Peanut is considered a "special needs" she qualified for the program, but they still charge you an arm and a leg. If they pump the charge by oz, but timewise, I'm not sure. I think its more expensive

Amy, don't be silly!! I don't allow people to say bad things about my friends! What make you think you're allowed to say bad stuff about yourself!! Huh?! As my friend you can't say bad stuff about yourself!! It's just not allowed, K?

Amy please don't put yourself down, I didn't even imagine that someone would charge $40 an oz for that stuff.

Have you heard that there is a donation centre at King Edward now, where mums donate milk and it is given to the preemies, it is apparently one of the first in the world, they sterilse the milk somehow, weird but cool.

I've heard of that! We had a ton of milk in our extra freezer (LOL, dh's "beer fridge" in the garage...beer and breast milk...what a combo!) that passed the 6 month mark, so I didn't think I could do anything with it. I don't know if we have a program like that, but I could've stocked them up!

I would call the local hospital or you could ask your ob/gyn. You should be so proud of yourself you made such a commitment to Ava by breastfeeding her for so long. I could barely breastfeed for 6 weeks before I dried up.

I'm a pump'in drop out.

Me too, lol! I pumped for 5 weeks, then got an infection and gave it up.

So, kudos to you, Linds, for sticking with it for so long! Now it's time for that boob lift that you wanted! :)

Thanks again, ladies! I'm proud of myself for making it for so long...work, school, hospitals...blah blah blah...it's sad though b/c it already seems like a distant memory, like she's already forgotten!:sad5: I'll never forget our special "nuggle" time though! I'm also sad that I won't get to do it again...we talked about it again last night, not having another, and LoL, I asked dh (jokingly!) if he wanted the big V for his b-day, which is today...guess what he said?:censored:

Anyway, I think I'm finally drying up, but it's really no big deal...much less painful than I thought it'd be. After the bite trauma cleared up, I'm fine, so I guess we really are done.

after all the responses above, I am not sure what to say....but for me ...I had to dry up, and a tight wrap around the boobs stopped everything in 48 hours. Gone. done, over. (tears)
