hi all.
My daughter has had blood in her vomit before and the paed told me its acid damage to the stomach thats causing it. However, i just went up to check on her and shes been sick. but its pink with bright red streaks and blobs in it. Its different to before, it was dark red/brown all the other times shes had blood in her vomit. Is this just the same (acid damge to the stomach), or should i see my GP.

Just worried as it looks different to all the other times, sorry if its a dumb question.

Any advice would be very much appriciated x

I would call the dr and have it check out, just to be on the safe side. Is she taking meds for the reflux?

ok thanks hun. Yes she is on meds. Shes currently on losec mups and infant gaviscon. Shes been on domperidone, ranitidine and zantac (i think thats what it was called) before and they didnt help. She was also prescribed thick&easy milk thickener and pepti-junior milk but now shes on solids she doesnt have those x

I am so sorry I missed this!

When are you going to see the GI? And how long has this been going on? Can you give us more information regarding your daughter such as weight, time on meds, weight, etc.

I think if she has any bright red blood in her vomit it is a trip to the ER for sure. That I would not mess around with for an instant. If she were on prevacid and the puke was pink or purple I would have an answer for you, but if it is indeed bright red I can not understand why you are having to wait at all to get in? What did the GI say? Or was it the NP you spoke to?
