Hi Graham the Parmacist....

I have read all of the posting and read all of your answers and i was woundering if you could give me some clara on somethings...

My son kelton is 5.5 months old weight 18 pounds. He like others are on a mix of drugs.

Zantac 1ml 2x day (been on same dose since he was 3 months)
Just got finnished 10 days of domperidone 3mls every 6 hours.
Just put him on Prevacid 30mg once daily 1/2 tab. (he told me to throw out the other half Really?? Or should i give it all to him??)

But my question is ..You said in other post that prevacid is good to give in the morning 1/2 hr b4 breakfast, Zantac in evening and at bedtime. And if needed an antacid as long as the zantac was taking 1 hr b4.. Kelton gets up in the morning and is HUNGERY! I could not wait 1/2 hr plus 15 min in water (let alone trying to get him to drink it). Any ideas?? If it works better in the am then i would like to give it to him then if poss... Should i ask for the compound instead? To late now or can they switch it when i get it filled??
Just woundering what i should do???????????

Should i get an antacid 4 him 2?? I know i should consult a ped, but i go threw my dr until the 15 days is up on prevacid...He finally refurred me to see a ped.My doctor is not the best and been asking to get a refurral for 3 months now.. Just got him to relize that he needed more then just Zantac...Having a hard time..

Thank you for doing this!! Replying in all..taking time to answers people question...:-)
Sorry so long...
Thanks again..

Hi Tina, for that orally disint. tab yes I would throw the other half away, sorry. Regarding the Prevacid in the AM, don't worry if it is right away or not, just wait until the next feeding and it will still work, just as long as it is in the system when the acid pumps turn on. It should last for 24 hours anyway, if not then give 1/2 the dose twice daily. There is no problem with the antacid but wait and talk to the dr. first for continuous use of such a product and space it from the prevacid if you do end up giving it.
