Eliana was just diagnosed with Asthma on Friday. She just turned 2 on Nov 14th. And this is pedi #3 for us. She is on albuterol and pulmicort. Just thought I'd introduce myself.

Hi Jeannette, I am so sorry that you are entering this forum also. But I am not surprised with our earlier converations on it. I hope the meds start to improve things soon.

I can't beleive she just turned two, time really does fly, you will have to post some new pics of her. If you do or have, can you pm me the link, cause I don't always get to see everything that is going on around here, these days, as you can understand having a two year old is hard work!!!!

I am not new to asthma so please ask any questions you need.

Thanks! I kinda of had a susp. that she had asthma especially with all the reading I do here at IRD. Once we can get past the cough and congestion and now on the meds I hope to see her improving soon. I sent you a private message with pics. Hope the links work for you.

How often do you give treatments? What meds is your little one on? How long before you saw improvements?

Well, for us,
we are on Singulair, which is a pain for Jack to take it is a powder and I am supposed to put it into applesauce, which he won't finish the whole thing.
And we are only on Albuterol right now. Every 4 hours, but I am OUT and need more. This will be our third bottle. He is coughing again, HORRIBLY.

Rach will chime in, she can tell you what they are on.

We use flovent and it varies week to week the strength, we double it when they are sick and wean it with the weather, I have it down to an art now.

Generally though it is morning and night, doubled when sick (the flovent) and also albuterol when they are sick. It should be a couple of days till you see lasting imrprovement, but the aluterol should be good for the short term.
